Type 1 Diabetes Can Be Treated With Cord Blood Transplantation

Cord blood which is rich in immune regulatory cells, transplantation can help to reduce type-1 diabetes of children, by restarting children’s immune systems.

Type 1 diabetes, usually diagnosed in children and young adults, occurs when the immune system goes haywire and starts attacking itself, destroying insulin-producing cells in the pancreas needed to control blood sugar.
