Diabetes is the growing disease among the UK-based South Asians. To spread awareness about the problem, the South Asian Health Foundation (SAHF), has started a campaign. For the purpose, Dr Gujral of the organization has decided to make a film called Sweet Talk.
According to the latest report by the American Diabetes Association reports, nearly 17,800 people in Cambria and Somerset counties have diabetes. Still nearly 43,000 are suffering from pre-diabetes. Nearly one in five has a significant chance of becoming diabetic.
Blurry vision, a symptom of Diabetic retinopathy, can be an indication to diabetes. It can often lead to loss of vision if left untreated. Dr. Mahipal Sachdev, said this at a free diabetic eye screening camp in the capital in New Delhi, India.
The International Journal of Pediatric Obesity has reported that nearly three million people in Ghana are overweight or obese. Perhaps, this can define the reason of growing diabetes among the children in Ghana. Even health experts say diabetes can soon take the shape of epidemic there.
