Forget about long span daily tiring exercises, which is easy but
difficult to continue. Now for type 2 diabetes patients researchers of Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh has found a new method of exercise, which is convenient, time saving and easy to continue for a longer period of time, as well as effective.
Researchers confirmed that to help avoid the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, just a shorter time vigorous hectic exercise is better than longer period of slow exercise.
This intense exercise program is required only for 7.5 minutes and that too for only couple of times a week. You can perform it easily by climbing stares, sprinting, or hard pedaling in a exercise bicycle, etc..
The study found that the higher-intensity exercise might in fact be better at improving insulin sensitivity than more traditional, longer and more frequent workouts.
Researchers focused on young, sedentary men who did 15 minutes of sprinting on an exercise bike spread out over two weeks – just a few minutes a day – substantially improved their ability to metabolize glucose, which helps reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes.
The shorter, more intense workouts also helped boost the body’s sensitivity to insulin, the hormone which regulates blood-sugar levels.
