Diabetes - a major concern for South Asia: survey report claims

A recent health-related study on the people living in UK conducted at Edinburgh and Dundee universities revealed that South Asians are more prone to be diabetic than others.

Specifically those belonging to India, Bangladesh and Pakistan outnumbered others. They are almost 4 times more likely to develop type 2 or late onset diabetes than the rest.

Even though these people receive health-care services equivalent to others they fall into the prey of diabetes and eye complications more.

Among 10,500 participants of the survey 176 South Asian people were found to have high blood sugar levels.
