Type 1 diabetes is the most serious form of the disease and affects more than 140,000 Australians, with most being children. And thus to cope with the epidemic and to help the Diabetes foundation to find a cure, Australians are going to organize two major events in their area.
First event will be organized in the area of Queensland’s Premier Anna Bligh, where more than 7,000 cyclists will be riding up to 100km from Brisbane to the Gold Coast. Their main aim is to raise money for Diabetes Australia and the Heart Foundation.
Whereas in a separate event, to raise funds for type 1 diabetes in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Walk to Cure Diabetes 60,000 Brisbane families will be taking part in Australia-wide walking.
