November is Diabetes Awareness Month, and in this month Hendrick Medical Center along with Texas AgriLife Extension Service sponsored a free workshop on last Saturday, whose aim is to help diabetics to lead a healthy life by informing them about diabetes and precautionary lifestyle.
On Saturday this workshop was open from 8 to 11:15 a.m in the Shelton Building at Hendrick Medical Center with more than 200 people attending the 14th annual Diabetes Texas Style Workshop. . For three-and-a-half hours, people from across the Big Country gathered and asked questions about different lifestyle. Those were advised healthy lifestyle which includes ultimate knowledge regarding diabetes and different information about dieting, exercise, foot care and ways to check blood sugar and insulin levels.
Two doctors, James Dunn, who specializes in endocrinology, and Cory Brown, who is a podiatric medicine physician were the main persons who were chosen to spoke in the workshop.
