UAB Awarded $6.3 Million For Diabetes Study
UAB, one of the few universities designated as Diabetes research center nationwide, is awarded $6.3 million by The National Institutes of Health to facilitate research work in diabetes. The whole money is to be used in the diabetes study and for treatment. The researchers are likely to focus on metabolic and vascular aspects of the disease to try to achieve a better solution of the disease. The aim of the organization is to provide better and successful ways to fight the disease.
UAB is also planing to start two new research clinics for teen diabetes and a shop for adults to see physicians for diabetes care and for care related to diabetes complications. However, the main objective is the research work.
