Type 2 Diabetes Mounting Progressively Amongst Over Weight Kiwis
Fat New Zealanders are a visible warning of a looming public health crisis, says visiting United Kingdom diabetes expert David Kerr.
In New Zealand, you clearly have an obesity problem, which may be getting out of hand, and you will see ever-increasing numbers of people with Type 2 diabetes.
Dr Kerr says while the issues of a diabetes epidemic are similar in Britain and New Zealand, he is surprised by the size of Kiwis he has seen.
Dr Kerr also hopes New Zealand will move toward using more of the tools the UK found improve the success of treatment.
