Australia launches its first website program, an online map to track the prevalence of the diabetes. The website shows the highest prevalence of the diabetes is in Brewarrina, in western NSW, where 13.9 per cent of the population has it.

In an attempt to facilitate diabetes awareness, the Pfizer Canada has decided donate $500,000 to a London research team to help fight diabetes. The fund will support the work of Dr. Stewart Harris, who holds the Canadian Diabetes Association Chair in Diabetes Management at the University of Western Ontario.
