Depression increases the risk of death in the elderly diabetics, this is what a new study shows in its latest research.
A group of Swedish researchers have found that depression, anxiety and sleeplessness can lead to develop diabetes among men. All these problems can double the risks of developing type 2 diabetes. The study, which looked at 2,127 men born between 1938 and 1957 and 3,100 women, found no such link in women.
A study published in the journal Diabetes Care states that people having the combination of type 2 diabetes and minor depression have a 67% greater risk of dying, while people with both diabetes and major depression have a 130% greater chance of dying, compared to those who have type 2 diabetes alone.
