Studies Promise Hope For Diabetes Free World
Can the world be free from diabetes? Can the diabetes patients live a healthy and happy life for ever? If scientists are to be believed, we can say hopefully yes. The Eastern Virginia Medical School researcher has claimed to have invented the medicine (s) that promises to cure type 1 diabetes(IDDM).
Dr. Jerry Nadler, the Virginia Medical School researcher said a combination of the the two drugs can be used to regenerate a person’s own insulin producing cells.
“In our research we took one medication called lisofylline, which stops the body from destroying the cells and we took another medication called NGAP which helps the body make new cells,”
says the researcher.
Dr. Nadler has also said that he has been successful in testing the experiment in mice. He has presented the study to the American Diabetes Association. He has expressed hope for successfully and is now eyeing the ADA approval. Hollander is hopeful, because while insulin helps control his blood sugar, he still experiences potentially harmful side effects.
