Flavanols, ÀÚ¿¬ÀûÀÎ ½Ä¹° ÈÇÕ¹°Àº ÄÚÄÚ¾ÆÀÇ °Ç°¿¡ ÁÁÀº À̵濡 Ã¥ÀÓ ÀÖ´Ù. ¶ÇÇÑ Â÷¿¡¼, ÀûÆ÷µµÁÖ ¹× ƯÁ¤ û°ú ÀÖ´Ù.
´Ù¸¥ °ç¿¡ ¿¬±¸µÇ¾ú´Ù Kelm ¹Ú»ç¹× ³ôÀº flavanol ÄÚÄھư¡ Çâ»óÇѤ¤´Ù´Â °ÍÀ» º¸´Â ±×ÀÇ µ¿·á ½ÉÀå Ç÷°ü °Ç° ¶Ç´Â ¾Æ´Õ´Ï´Ù.

ȯÀÚ°¡ ¾î¶² ÄÚÄھƵçÁö ¼Ò¸ðÇϱâ Àü¿¡, ÆÈ µ¿¸ÆÀÇ È®Àå ºñÀ²Àº ´ÜÁö 3.3%, ¹Ý¸é ³ô flavanol ÄÚÄھƸ¦ ¸¶½Ã±â ÈÄ¿¡À̾ú´Ù FMD ÀÀ´äÀº 4.8%À̾ú´Ù. 8 ÀÏ ÈÄ¿¡ FMD ÀÀ´äÀº ±âÁؼ±¿¡ 4.1%¿¡ ¹Ý¸é ÄÚÄÚ¾Æ ¼·Ãë ÈÄ¿¡ Áõ°¡µÇ¾ú´Ù FMD ÀÀ´äÀº 5.7%¿¡ Áõ°¡ÇÑ´Ù. 30 ³¯¿¡ FMD ÀÀ´äÀº ±âÁؼ±¿¡ 4.3%¿Í ÄÚÄÚ¾Æ ¼·Ãë ÈÄ¿¡ 5.8%¿¡ Çâ»óÇß´Ù.

Kelm ¹Ú»ç ÄÚÄÚ¾Æ flavanols°¡ Çâ»óÇϱâ À̰ÍÀÌ ´Ù°í ¸»ÇÑ´Ù FMD »êÈÁú¼ÒÀÇ »ý»êÀ» Áõ°¡Çؼ ÀÀ´äÀº, ÈÇÐÁ¦Ç° µ¿¸ÆÀ» Áõ°¡ÇÑ Ç÷·ù·®¿¡ ÀÀÇÏ¿© ÀÌ¿ÏÇÏ°í ³ÐÈ÷µµ·Ï ¸»ÇÏ´Â ½ÅÈ£¸¦ º¸³½´Ù. µ¿¸Æ Æ÷ȹÀÇ ÀÌ¿ÏÀº ½ÉÈ¥ ¹× Ç÷°ü ¶³¾îÁ® ¾Ð¹ÚÇÑ´Ù.
Kelm ¹Ú»ç cautioned that the conclusion of this study is not that, high flavanol cocoa used in this study is sold in the supermarket and the people with Diabetes should guzzle cocoa so as to cure diabetes. Rather ¡°Physicians should be increasingly looking to lifestyle changes and new approaches to help in addressing the cardiovascular risks associated with diabetes.¡± says Dr Kelm.
Thus concluding that the dietary flavanols might have an important impact as a part of a healthy diet in the prevention of cardiovascular complications in diabetic patients.
